An honor guard of Utah Highway Patrolmen lower the American flag at the state capitol prior to raising it to its full height. The flag had flown at half mast for twelve days in response to the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington. Utah Governor Mike Leavitt presided over the small ceremony Saturday night.

9-11 Honor Guard Ceremony

Steven Vaenuku, a teammate of Una Taufa's at West High School, kisses his forehead at the end of a visit to Taufu's hospital room. Man at left will be identified shortly. West High football player Una Taufa suffered a severe neck injury in a game two weeks ago and is partially paralyzed.
