Vigil for Officer Joseph Shinners

Provo - Roger Cook (center left with cowboy hat) and his wife Marianne Cook look for the names of five friends (neighbors, a missionary companion, and Cook's commanding officer) who were killed in the Vietnam conflict. Roger Cook is a Moroni resident who served in Vietnam in 1968. The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the national Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C., is on display in Provo. A steady stream of visitors paid their respects to the more than 58,000 names memorialized on the wall.
